Job Fair - September 16, 2008
11:00 am to 4:00 pm
 Grand River Center, Dubuque, IA

Job seekers workshop will be held on September 4, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Workforce Center and will include information on: computer skills, internet familiarity and on-line applications, appropriate dress for a job interview, good interviewing techniques, how to approach businesses in the community and at the job fair, resume development (distribute several samples of good resumes), and encourage professionalism and good tast when developing internet sites, e-mail addresses, voice mail greetings, etc.

At the end of the workshop, job seekers who want to develop a resume will be scheduled for a small group session with Workforce Center staff.  Workshop attendance will be required as well in order to schedule a time for one of these sessions:

September 10; 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. -- 9 slots available (3 slots each hour)

September 11; 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. -- 9 slots available (3 slots each hour)

Job seekers who complete the workshop and schedule an appointment to develop a resume will be given a resume work sheet.  A completed work sheet will also be required in order to attend the small group session.

Job seekers who already have resumes may get them critiqued by an H.R. professional at the Workforce Center on September 10, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.  The resume critique service will also be offered during the Job Fair.  No appointments are necessary for this service and there is no charge.
