You can use this
system if you:
- Worked in the state of Iowa in the last 18
months.
- Served in the U.S. Military Services in the last 18 months and have not filed a claim with another state.
- Are a laid off federal employee and have
worked in Iowa in the last 18 months.
- If you are no longer working or working
substantially fewer hours.
- Applications can be submitted any time during the
first week of unemployment, but should be filed before Friday noon
for best service.
- If you are receiving vacation or severance
pay from your last employer, it is suggested that you contact your
local
Workforce Development Center.
If you have not worked in the state of Iowa in
the last 18 months you cannot use this application to file your claim.
If you are unsure if you should use this application click the exit
button and contact your local Workforce Development Center.
During the process of filing your unemployment
application you need to have the following information available:
- Your Social Security number.
- Names and addresses of all your employers
during the last 18 months.
- If you are not a U.S. citizen, your Alien
Registration number.
- If you have served in the U.S. Armed Forces
in the last 18 months, you will have to provide a copy of your
DD-214, member 4.
- If you have worked for the U.S. government in
the last 18 months you will have to provide address information
from your SF-8 form.
- Name(s) of anyone you will be claiming as a
dependent. The maximum number of dependents allowed is four (4).
